Your first Taekwondo trial in Geneva: a guide for families

A first Taekwondo session starts with a practical question: which class fits your child and your weekly routine? At Koryo, you can compare the Geneva locations, check the age group and timetable, and request a free trial online. This guide explains how to make that request and what to confirm with the club before attending.

1. Choose a location you can attend regularly

Koryo has two Geneva locations covered in this guide: Champel, at Avenue Dumas 23, and Nations, at Avenue de Sécheron 11. Start with the location that works for your journey from home or school, then check whether its timetable matches your availability.

The Koryo Geneva location guide brings the two clubs together. Each branch page shows its own groups and timetable, so you can compare the actual options before filling in the trial form.

2. Check the class for your child’s age

Champel offers TaekFunDo for ages 4–6, Koryo Junior for ages 7–9 and Koryo Senior for ages 10–15. Nations lists Junior and Senior classes for children and teenagers aged 7–15. Check the branch page rather than assuming that every programme is available at every location.

If your child is between groups, or you are unsure which class to choose, contact Koryo before submitting your request. The club can confirm the appropriate group for that location.

3. Find a session that fits your week

At Champel, the current weekly timetable is:

DayTimeGroup
Tuesday17:00–18:00Junior, ages 7–9
Tuesday18:00–19:00Senior, ages 10–15
Wednesday18:00–19:00Senior, ages 10–15
Saturday09:00–10:00Junior, ages 7–9
Saturday10:00–11:00TaekFunDo, ages 4–6

For Nations, use the current Nations timetable. Before attending, check the branch page and your confirmation from the club for the session you requested.

4. Request your free trial

Open the free trial section and choose Switzerland for a class in Geneva. Follow the form steps, select the available class and provide the requested contact information. Read the form’s conditions before submitting.

A submitted request is the start of the process. Wait for the club to confirm the session and any practical details before travelling to the venue. If the class you need is not available in the form, ask the club about the options rather than selecting a different session just to complete the request.

5. Confirm the practical details

Before your first visit, ask what your child should wear, whether any equipment is needed and how to find the entrance. If your child is new to Taekwondo, mention this so the instructor knows it is a first session. After the trial, ask about the suitable group, ongoing timetable and enrolment arrangements.

Questions families often have

Can we request a Saturday class at Champel?

Yes. Junior runs from 09:00 to 10:00 and TaekFunDo from 10:00 to 11:00 on Saturdays. Request the age-appropriate class and wait for confirmation from the club.

Can a four-year-old attend the Nations programme shown here?

The Nations page lists ages 7–15. For ages 4–6 in Geneva, check the TaekFunDo session at Champel or contact the club about suitable options.

What if we want a class in France?

Use the France registration route in the trial section. Koryo’s Pays de Gex classes use HelloAsso. The route follows the country of the class, whichever language you use on the website.
